Happy Easter

Here are some pictures from our Easter weekend. First of all, is this not a pretty scary looking Easter bunny? McKay met him at Walgreens and I was shocked that he didn't cry. He did look rather concerned though.

McKay's Easter basket from the Easter Bunny and some gifts from Papa and Bubbe.

The bunny sings and dances. We're all a little sick of it already (well, McKay's still a fan).

Taking a walk (in his new shoes) with Papa and Bubbe.

Spring Break in California

We spent last weekend in San Luis Obispo and Los Angeles to visit Sean's family and go to his cousin's wedding. It was a short trip with lots of driving (McKay did pretty great!), but I'm so glad that we were able to go and be with family. Here are some pictures from the visit.

These two get into EVERYTHING!

Kenny and Christine's beautiful reception

Just like his Daddy, McKay loves Sammy Dog

He followed her everywhere

On another note, McKay went to nursery for the first time today. He did such a good job and when I went to check on him, he was sitting and eating snack like a big kid. I almost cried! He was so worn out when we got home he fell asleep while I was changing his diaper. That's definitely a first!

Wordless Wednesday - McKay meets a cow

Dear Michaela,

This post is dedicated to one of the coolest girls I know (which is saying a lot since I know soooo many cool girls) Michaela! When we were in California last weekend (pictures coming soon!) I discovered that Michaela shares my crazy love for maps. So here are some of my favorites.
{These are all prints that my parents had in our house growing up. The 2nd and 3rd are currently hanging in McKay's room and I think they're totally appropriate art work for a toddler!}

Sean - A Master Inventor

That's right folks, Sean has a knack for inventing creative solutions to everyday problems.

Exhibit A: When I was big and pregnant, I asked Sean to help me shave my legs. Apparently, he really didn't want to do that, so he came up with this gadget.

Exhibit B: McKay became really good at throwing his pacifier, but Sean didn't like the girly ribbon pacifier clips (didn't bother me though!) so he came up with a more manly clip.

Exhibit C: Finally, Sean decided that I needed a handy stand to go with my beautiful, new Macbook Air so using plumbing supplies and some corks he came up with this...

Look how pretty the copper is! I love it. Good job, Sean!

Travel Prep

Only three more days of school until SPRING BREAK! We're traveling to L.A. for our break for Sean's cousin's wedding. We are super excited to spend time with Sean's family and enjoy sunny California (did you know it was in the 90s there last week!?!?), but since I'm a worry wart, I have to stress out about the drive. It's 16 hours, which we've done with McKay a few times already, but now that he's mobile and crazy active I've been trying to think of different ways to distract him on the drive.

Today I went to the Dollar Tree and bought these goodies for the drive. I'm planning on only using them when McKay's on the verge of a meltdown.

Then I wrapped them all up so it'll be an exciting event.

I also went to the library and got a few DVDs to put on the iPad. That, and lots of snacks should (hopefully) do it! Wish us luck!
