Kissing Cousins

They don't really kiss like that, but McKay and Lilly do love each others. I think they will be great friends as they get older. It was so much fun to watch them together.

McKay gave Lillia lots of kisses, but she never knew how to take it.

Christmas = Family, Friends, Food, & Fun...

...usually in that order too. We traveled to Ohio for Christmas to spend the holidays with my family. It was so nice to relax with my family, see some of my great high school friends, and eat my favorite foods. Sean and I also celebrated our 7 year anniversary. Wow, it sure doesn't seem like that long. We went to a really nice, fancy restaurant called the Worthington Inn, and saw True Grit (both of which I highly recommend). Want to know my favorite thing I did over the break? Becca and I spent an afternoon running errands on our own while my mom and Sean watched the babies. It reminded me of old times! Here are a few pictures from our trip.

The Big Cut

I did it! I have done something I've wanted to do for years, but was never brave enough to do. I donated 10 inches of my hair to Locks of Love. I've gotta be honest, it feels pretty great. I decided to do this last summer and I've been growing out my hair since then, but I've had doubts this past month. I had discovered lots of cute ways to style my long hair and debated on whether or not I would back out. I was even really nervous the day of....but it's done and I'm really happy. See for yourself!

Here are the "before" pictures...

and the "after" pictures.

McKay seemed to approve of the short 'do.

Are you kidding me?

We're flying to Ohio for Christmas break tomorrow. That means I'm in my crazy frenzy of cleaning, packing and running errands. Basically, I'm a nut. So last night I was doing a load of McKay's clothes and I went to switch them to the dryer. I opened the washing machine and noticed there was all this brown paper all stuck to the clothes. If this was mine and Sean's laundry I would have just figured that there was a napkin or tissue left in our pockets (you know you've done that before), but Little Boy doesn't have any pockets on his baby clothes. So it was a puzzle.

I kept on pulling out each piece of clothing and it's covered in this stuff. I took some of the brown paper to Sean for his analysis and he said it looked like it was cardboard. Okay, weird. As I'm taking out more of the clothes I notice there's also tons of dryer sheets in the mix. I was so confused. First of all, I know that dryer sheets don't go into the washer and second, I don't even use dryer sheets with McKay's clothes.

Then it hits me - the whole box of dryer sheets must have fallen into the wash. Gross. Well it's the end of the day, I'm stressed out because of everything I have to get done, and this is the straw that breaks the camel's back. I kinda lose it. I almost started crying even.

Then steps in my hero and Sean came to my rescue. He took over from there by taking all of the clothes into the bathroom and rinsing them out for me. Thanks Sean.

Now I need to go buy more dryer sheets!

Brag Much?

Today I feel like bragging. If that sort of stuff bugs you then feel free to quit reading this post...
Okay then (said in my Mr. Edwards' voice). First of all, today was my last day of work. For the rest of the year! Yeah, alright, so really it's about two weeks off and I start back in January. So that's pretty cool.
You all knew the thing I like to brag about most is how ah-mazing my McKay is. He is so dang smart. He's not into saying actual words just yet, but he's becoming quite the signer. McKay can sign more, sleepy, fan, and dog. Now that I'm looking at this list it doesn't seem so long, but I'm really excited about them! The dog one just happened today. Little Boy was looking at some of his books and starting signing dog. Turns out he was actually looking at a picture of a dog. Really! How does this kid know that? He's a genius. Oh, he's a great dancer too. No surprise there. The kid's got nice rhythm. Okay there. Bragging's done. Thanks for "listening."
yo, check out my cool new hat!

Sickie

I'm sick. ugh. I've been self-diagnosed with having a fever, strep, double ear infection, and basically laying on my death bed. So really I'm just having a pity party for myself. You're invited to attend. Sean is Mr. Mom today and I plan on sleeping all weekend. Here's a picture of my sick self.

Surprisingly I don't look at bad as I feel. That's because I took this picture after I attempted to go to school yesterday. I made it almost a whole hour before calling a sub. I felt bad doing that though, because it was our class Christmas Party and I didn't want to miss it. Don't I sound like a 7 year old saying that?

Anyways here's my plan for feeling better for the Christmas week: chicken noodle soup, watching A Christmas Story over and over again, LOTS of sleep, and snuggles from baby. I'm confident it'll work. Wish me luck since we're flying to Ohio in 5 days!

Seasons Greetings!
